East Wanneroo has many features of natural beauty that have been neglected. The question for residents is do they want it to be an area where the natural values are enhanced and developed to the benefit of residents and visitors?

Should a lake and wetland area just be a copycat version of city infill suburbs mixed in with industrial zones with major roads made for industrial traffic. It is at this stage of planning that the urban ghetto scenario can be avoided. This lake and wetland district could be a place that offers a great quality of life for its residents and be a place that attracts visitors and tourists.

If this area becomes an urban/industrial ghetto it may be profitable to developers and convenient for politicians but the resident’s home values and quality of life will be adversely affected.
