Huge proposed industry sites fly under the radarCREW has been door-knocking. Our new brochure with its Google map shows the size of the industrial estates and their location. After seeing the map around 95% of residents said they did not want this mass of industry, and although many had heard about the industrial estates, the reality of their enormous size and impact on the community had not hit them.
In fact one resident said, “the enormous size of these industrial estates has been the best kept secret of the election”.

The jobs spinPaul Miles is claiming the government’s industrial plans for East Wanneroo will create 100,000 industrial jobs. 100,000 jobs for a projected 2031 City of Wanneroo population of 300,000, how crazy is that? Just imagine one in every three people (man woman and child) marching off to their industrial job. He doesn’t seem to understand how disruptive this will be for the majority of residents living in the City of Wanneroo wanting other types of employment. CREW has researched the employment statistics of another area of Perth to see if this will benefit or disadvantage the resident of the City of Wanneroo in relation to employment.

Get involvedUnfortunately the Liberals are committed to following through with their industrial plans, Labor and the Greens are committed to stopping them. This presents us all with a real opportunity to stop this bad plan in its tracks. Spread the word, there is still a lot that you can do before the elections. It is only through people coming together that our voices can be heard, people can learn the truth, assess the facts and stop this bad plan.

Can you spare some hours to door-knock or hold up roadside banners between now and the elections?
